The Metaverse is actually a virtual reality, but it's not quite like what you've seen in science fiction blockbusters "what is Metaverse".Imagine a franchise like The Matrix, where the world is a digital simulation that everyone is connected to, and made so well that almost no one knows it's not real. The Metaverse isn't exactly the same, but it certainly has some fantastically immersive potential.
The idea behind Metaverse has been around for much longer than Meta's vision — in fact, it's even older than Facebook. Zuckerberg referred to it as "an embodied Internet that you're in rather than just watching."
The true meaning of the metaverse is as broad as Zuckerberg's vague description.
What is Metaverse?
In its most basic form, the Metaverse is a virtual reality that allows people from all over the world to interact with each other and with the Metaverse. Users are often allowed to obtain items that remain on them between sessions, or even descend within the metaverse. However, there are many ways to interpret that concept, and it has evolved a lot over the years.On the Internet, we're always in conversation with something – whether it's a website, a game, or a chat program that connects us with our friends. Metaverse takes this a step further and puts the user in the middle of the action. It opens the door to stronger, more realistic experiences that only browsing the web or watching videos fail, if ever how to access the metaverse but currently it is not possible.
To some extent, talking about the "metaverse" is like discussing the meaning of "the Internet" in the 1970s. were in the process of becoming the building blocks of a new form of communication, but no one could really know what reality would look like. So while it was true, at the time, that the "internet" was coming, not every idea of what it would look like is not true.

On 28 October 2021, Facebook announced that it has rebranded itself as Meta Platforms Inc., or Meta for short – a name it has carefully chosen to reflect what will be the inevitable future of human connectivity and, perhaps, life. Why is it?

Being truly present with another person is the ultimate dream of social technology. That’s why we are focused on creating that, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in his founder's letter after the announcement Facebook is it possible to access the metaverse.
How to access the Metaverse?
Zuckerberg can go a step further and expect millions of people around the world to look and feel like the Metaverse in this 77-minute video.The word "metaverse" is a portmanteau of two words "meta-" and "poetry". The word "meta" is a prefix of Greek-origin meaning "beyond" while the word "poetry" comes from "universe".
Zuckerberg showed a world that could be defined as a higher level of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR). In the virtual space of the metaverse, everything people do in the real world is replicated.
A VR headset, or any other wearable gadget specially designed for this purpose, will act as a gateway into this world.
Facebook's idea of the Metaverse includes virtual avatars of people playing games, holding meetings, attending workshops, exercising, studying, and socializing in addition to all kinds of activities that can actually be done.
A much larger and much larger metaverse can be drawn from this idea. It is notable, however, that Zuckerberg believes that it may take about 10 years for the metaverse to become mainstream. To think about it, that's too little time.
A metaverse is a network of 3D virtual worlds focused on social connections. In futurism and science fiction, the term is often described as a fictional iteration of the Internet as a single, universal virtual world facilitated by the use of virtual and augmented reality headsets.
